The heats are run independently by each venue. Some venues have preliminary heats, which you must enter to qualify for their final. Please contact us should you have any queries. If you have no preference where to enter then by sending your details in to the organisers' office we will allocate you a heat to enter.

It is possible to enter more than one heat so that you have more than one chance of making it through to the Gala Final, which will be in Belfast on Monday 16 June 2008.

There will also be several other photoshoot dates you will be required to attend during the two weeks from 2nd June through to the actual Contest .

Others dates will be advised . Some dates may change or vary . Please be aware of this . Should you get through you will be required all day on those dates.

Accommodation will be provided free of charge at the Europa Hotel, Belfast on the Saturday and Sunday nights for all finalists. All details will be advised to those who qualify for the final.

Each venue runs their heat slightly differently and you should liase with us to check out start/ arrival time, etc as well as dress requirements which normally will be cocktail dress.

Rules of Eligibility for entering the Junction One Miss Northern Ireland and Miss World Contest

Each contestant
a) shall not be less than 17 years of age and no more than 24 years of age on 31st December of the Year of the Contest

b) shall not have participated as a National in a National Contest conducted by an authorized Licensee within and on the soil of the mainland of Northern Ireland ( unless special permission has been given in writing by Miss World due to extenuating circumstances ) within 12 months prior to the holding of The Miss World Contest

c) holds a valid passport of Northern Ireland and a valid visa where applicable for London and the designated Venue

d) shall have won or been elected as a winner of Junction One Miss Northern Ireland elected specifically to participate in the appropriate Miss World Contest or be first runner - up if the winner is prevented by reason beyond her control from participating ( subject to the right as the Promoter to waive or amend the requirement if in its absolute discretion nominated persons are unable unfit or otherwise unqualified to participate in The Miss World Contest and subject to the right of the Promoter to reject without giving any reason any application by a contestant to enter The Miss World Contest)

e) shall be of good character and possessed of charm poise personality and have beauty of face and figure

f) shall be a person whose background is not likely to bring into disrepute The Miss World Contest or Title or the Licensee or the Promoter or any person associated with them Posing for nude or semi nude pictures would be considered in this.

g) shall be a person :-

(i) who usually uses the prefix 'Miss' ( or eqivalent ) before her name

(ii) who has never been through any ceremony either valid or invalid and whether civil, religious or tribal which is recognized as a marriage ceremony in any part of the world

(iii) who has never given birth to a child

(iv) has never taken part in any contest for qualification to represent another country

(v) who has never won any Miss World Contest or represented the National Area in any previous Miss World Contest or taken part in any previous international beauty contest.

(vi) Must be born in Northern Ireland or be 5 years continuous residency at time of entry and have a permanent address in Northern Ireland

(vii) Should she win Junction One Miss Northern Ireland title, must come under the exclusive management of the Junction One Miss Northern Ireland Beauty Pageant and must be available for all public appearances throughout her reign which includes participation in the Miss World 2008 Contest for a period of up to one month

Several contestants may be selected for direct entry into specific heats. Photographs cannot be returned. Contestants must accept that each venue may run their heats differently and must accept to abide with the judges' decision which is final.
